Haflinger at a reining show
Haflinger at trail

our passion

We have been fortunate to own and train Haflingers that excel in pleasure driving, dressage, jumping, and yes, reining. This fortune is a result of the overall athletic ability of the Haflinger combined with the careful training that we provide for our horses. It's not just a great pedigree that makes a great horse. Training is easily one half of the equation.

We offer high quality educated Haflinger horses. We breed for temperament, good movement and for a PURPOSE. Good mindedness is KEY! Great conformation and good looks in our Haflinger horses are a given.

We firmly believe that genetics control the conformation, athleticism and intelligence of a horse, but people control the trust and confidence they will need to respond willingly and enthusiastically when it is time to be trained.

Our training program is based on developing the truly round horse; one that is COMFORTABLE being round, because it has been encouraged to develop its muscles and carrying power through YEARS of sensible, progressive, building-block work. Our goal is to help the horse develop its body so that it can carry itself and its rider in balance, without the human pulling on the reins to curve the horse's neck, and without the horse reacting by leaning on the bit. This type of training, we have found, gives our horses a solid foundation for any discipline.

Brian has been working with talented reining instructors while training Ravalon in reining maneuvers - the spins, the stops, the roll backs, and the circles. He will spend the next year working with his instructors to "put the finish on her." Watching a well-trained reining horse is truly a unique experience. These horses can use their powerful hind ends to stop and then perform turnarounds and rollbacks that will take your breath away. they can slide to a stop and then back twenty feet in a perfectly straight line. What makes this truly impressive is that they do it on a loose rein, willingly, showing no signs of resentment. This is where a good mind plus correct conformation, athletic ability, and the proper conditioning comes into play.

Currently we do not offer any outside training services and are very careful of our non-pro status for reining.
